Origin Aswking Me To Download Game I Already Have Downloaded

Learn all about downloading your games, cloud storage, and tracking achievements using Origin.

Don’t have Origin on your computer? Read our guide on how to download, install, and update it.

When you buy a digital version of a game or downloadable content (DLC) for a game through Origin — either from the Store tab in the client or on origin.com — it's automatically added to My Game Library.

You can also add games you buy outside of Origin, including physical games. Click on Redeem Product Code… from the Origin menu and type in your codes there.

If you need help redeeming your codes, read our article on how to do that.

Installing origin games on second hdd? Download any updates and then recognise the game is fully downloaded and installed correctly. If your friend already has some Origin games installed. First, point Origin to the directory where your Origin Games are stored in Origin -> Application Settings -> Advanced -> Downloaded Games. Then, find the games that you have installed already at that location in your Origin library, and click 'Download' for them. If your EA games won’t download, install, or load using Origin, use these steps including safe mode downloading and Repair Game to troubleshoot. Sometimes downloads and installations get stopped or stuck, or your installed games won’t load. So, I bought the limited edition of Steins;Gate last night and have been trying to download it since then. I downloaded the data.bin files, but despite that when I'm running setup.exe to actually install the game it always asks me to load a disk containing them so that it can continue and when I am incapable of doing such a thing it just stops. Unfortunately Origin usually shows Downloading although the game is installing from disc. Do not let this confuse you. It is important to start the installation process from DVD and not by clicking Download on Origin. If you do that, the game will be downloaded despite you having the DVD in your drive.

Uplay wants to re-download the game while I already downloaded it through steam? Hi guys, as I already wrote above: Uplay doesn't want to start the already fully-downloaded game (from steam) until itself downloaded 10 GB again. Is there any fix for that? I already tried the copy'n'paste thing but it doesn't seem to work. Hope you can help me. Where do I go to find what I have downloaded ***Post. Skip to main content. Where do i find my downloaded games on my new pc. You have trouble locating the downloaded games. Did you download the games from Windows Store? Which website did you use to download the games?

Why did I get an error that too many computers have accessed my game recently?

If you get the message that says, 'Too many computers have accessed this account’s version of [game name] recently. Please try again later,' it's because you can only install your game on up to five computers per 24-hour period, as mentioned in our Terms of Service.

Using a different computer, changing the hardware in your current computer, or using a virtual machine to play can all count as a new computer. It can take up to 24 hours for you to be able to relaunch the game.

If you're getting the error after 24 hours, let us know so we can help.

You can set the maximum download rate for games and choose if you want them to download while you’re playing other ones.

Here’s how:

  1. Open the Origin client.
  2. Click Origin in the top menu bar.
  3. Choose Application Settings.

How it works from there:

  • Under Download Restrictions, you’ll see dropdowns for your maximum download rate when out of game and during gameplay. You can choose from a range of speeds, up to No limit.
  • While you’re in game, you can choose Don’t download so that nothing downloads while you’re gaming.
  • Want your games to stay up to date on their own? Scroll down in the Application Settings to Client update. Make sure the toggle for Automatic game updates is switched on.

Some of our games let you store your saves in the cloud. When you turn on cloud storage, it will store your data on our secure EA servers instead of taking up space on your hard drive. That means that you can also access those saved games from other computers if you’re signed in to your account.

Cloud storage is on by default. Want to change that? You can do so in your settings:

  1. Open the Origin client.
  2. Click Origin in the top menu bar.
  3. Choose Application Settings.
  4. Select the Installs & Saves tab.
  5. Under Cloud Storage, make sure Saves is set to On — or Off — depending on your preference.

Origin can store 100MB of save data per game.

You can find out if your games support cloud saving in the game’s Properties:

  1. Launch the Origin client.
  2. Click on My Game Library.
  3. Right-click the game you want to check and click Game Properties.

If it’s available, you’ll see a Cloud Storage tab next to the General tab. Don’t see a tab? Then the game doesn’t have cloud storage.

Cloud saves are platform-specific. If you save your game on PC, you can only access your cloud saves from another PC. Same goes for Mac.

Several of our games have achievements that you can earn while you play.

You can track your achievements for many EA games with Origin. See what achievements you’ve earned by checking your profile page.

I uninstalled and re-installed steam. I didn't uninstall my games, and they still exist on my hard drive (I checked).

I have an SSD and a HDD, and to save space I install programs (including steam) to C:Program Files (x86)Steam drive (SSD) and games to D:GamesSteamApps (HDD). How to I let steam know the programs are installed there?

There is now an official support article at support.steampowered.com covering some other solutions as well.

Origin

Go to Steam > Settings > Downloads tab > Steam library folders. Add the D:Games folder there and restart Steam. Steam should then be able to find the installed games again.

Yes, just click install and this will happen:

After this it either installs the files or just does nothing. I had the same problem but I think it got patched by Valve a while ago

I know this is an old question with old answers, but I came across it when I made the mistake of backing up only my .SteamAppsCommon folder, and not the app manifests that accompanied them before uninstalling, deleting and reinstalling Steam.

None of the easy methods worked for me, and faced with the task of manually clicking through the install dialogue and waiting for it to discover existing files 1000 times over, I wrote a PowerShell script to do it for me.

It saved me a lot of time and effort, so I thought I'd share for anyone else who lands here.

I can confirm the possible ways for you because I have done it many times.

Method 1: Moving games to a new hard drive (like SSD)

The root folder can be anywhere, but the games must be in the subdirectory named 'steamappscommon' from the root folder. If you want the games to reside in D:Games then you should create the folder structure: D:Gamessteamappscommon

The resulting game folders will look like this:

D:GamessteamappscommonArma 2
D:GamessteamappscommonArma 2 Operation Arrowhead
D:GamessteamappscommonMountblade Warband
D:GamessteamappscommonAssassin's Creed IV Black Flag

Once the games are in place, in the Steam client open the Steam menu (top left corner) and select Settings. Open the 'Downloads' section and at the very top, the first setting is named Content Libraries with a button Steam Library Folders. Click the button to open Steam Library Folders. Click the 'Add Library Folder' button to add a new library then select the folder D:Games. The library list should now show 'D:Games' as a Steam Library.

Exit Steam and then run it again. As soon as it opens, all the games that it finds in the library folder will be shown in White color as if they were already installed.

Method 2: Copying steam games from an old computer to a new computerOn the new computer, open Steam and either install one small game, or create the subdirectory yourself - it should be C:Program Files(x86)Steamsteamappscommon

Exit Steam, then copy the games from the old computer's steam library usually from C:Program Files(x86)Steamsteamappscommon into the same folder on the new computer.

Run Steam, and all the game names listed in your library will be in White color as if they were installed. When you run the games, Steam will run the DirectX prerequisite installs if neeeded just like it had done on the old computer.

Method 3: Copying a single game from one PC to the otherSteam can be left running. On the new computer, open Steam and either install one small game, or create the subdirectory yourself - it should be C:Program Files(x86)Steamsteamappscommon

Copy the game from the old PC onto the new one and place it in the same folder as before - usually C:Program Files(x86)SteamsteamappscommonArma 2 Operation Arrowhead

The game will still be listed in gray (not installed) in Steam. Click Install Game. Steam will displayed the message 'Discovering existing files for xxx' and after a few seconds it will show the Play Game window.
