Samsung Series 3 user here. Love my chromebook but I admit I was a little bummed with the lack of torrent options for it. Well today I figured it out.
Put.io has solved all my problems, and gone above and beyond what I ever thought was capable for torrenting on my chromebook. It's a service that you copy your magnet link and post to their site, they upload the torrent and host it on their servers. You can then stream your movie or whatever from put.io or you can download the file to your computer (like I do with e-books) Right now I'm paying under 5 USD a month to use 10GB. I'm not trying to sound like an advertiser here, I'm not, but this site really changed the way I can use my chromebook, and I'm really happy about it. Any file can be shared as a torrent, and sharing a file as a torrent means there isn’t any single server that gets bogged down by handling all the traffic. You can legally download public domain films, text, and other media from the Internet Archive, and even full Linux OS images through torrents.

Torrents are also one of the easiest ways to get a malicious file on your computer. That shouldn’t be a problem on a Chromebook, but it doesn’t hurt to take an extra precaution before you download the entire Internet. JSTorrent is available for $3 on the Chrome Web Store, without a trial or free version. You’ll need to set a download directory the first time you open JSTorrent. Start by selecting “Settings.” Then, select “Choose” next to “File Download Location.”
